formerly Stockbridge State Bank

Dear Customers and Friends,

In 2002 the Board of Directors of Stockbridge State Bank decided to celebrate the bank's 95th birthday in a unique manner...by changing our name.

On October 1, 2002, we changed our name to SSBBank - but that's the only thing we changed. We did not merge with some other institution or sell the bank. We just shortened up our name to modernize it. We now have four branches serving five counties in mid-Michigan. Our new name still reflects our roots but at the same time lessens the geographical limitation of our old name.

We started with just one branch in Stockbridge in 1908. Then we opened a branch in Gregory in 1964. We opened another branch in Eaton Rapids in 1991 and in 2004 we started our Holt/South Lansing branch. Over the years, we expanded our boundaries so we decided we should update our name.

We are no longer just a small bank in a small town. Our town, our market, and our bank have all gotten much bigger. We offer almost every banking product available with sophisticated computer systems and networks that provide our customers with a variety of financial services. Our name now better reflects these new capabilities.

As always, Safe Sound Believable Banking is what we stand for. If you have any questions or want more information on our name change, please feel free to contact me at 517-851-7733 (toll-free at 1-877-974-BANK). The distinctive logo for our bank is located at the top center of this page.

Sincerely,

Ronald L. Soule
President & CEO
